The Identity of Every Fiber Network Design: The Complete Architecture Playbook

The Identity of Every Fiber Network Design: The Complete Architecture Playbook

THE ROLE OF COMPLETE ARCHITECTURE PLAYBOOK IN DESIGN

At the beginning of each project, we and our clients exchange a vital document called the Complete Architecture Playbook, or "CAP." This document is essential for every fiber project that Biarri Networks undertakes.

What is the CAP?

The CAP outlines a project’s overall architecture and specifications. At Biarri Networks, we collaborate closely with clients to ensure complete alignment with their fiber network architecture. This is what we call our "get-to-know" phase, where our team delves into the details of network topologies, terminology, device specifications, guidelines, and more. The more detailed your design, the more urgency our team places on having a face-to-face establishment session between the Biarri Networks team and yours. This is where we ask all questions to fully understand the scope and desired outcomes of your project. We've discovered that by following this process with our customers, we produce design outcomes that are timely, precise, and aligned with their expectations.

Importance of CAP

The CAP serves as the single source of truth that both Biarri Networks and our clients can refer to as the project progresses. This document is shared primarily among our team, especially our designers, as the CAP outlines design guidelines and checklists, including the severity levels that designers need to consider during the design process. Our quality assurance team, responsible for upholding and enforcing design standards, meticulously adheres to the guidelines set forth in the CAP.

On the technical side, this is also used as a translation of terms into configurations that will be fed internally into our tools and design processes that are required for design compliance and delivery of a network design. For the technical side, it also acts as a translation tool, converting terms into configurations that are input into our internal tools and design processes, ensuring compliance and facilitating the delivery of network designs.

The CAP also outlines all the deliverables our clients expect for each design, including design files, bills of materials, splicing plans, and other essential construction documents needed for the project's subsequent phases. These are typically accessed through our FOND collaboration tool.

The CAP is the identity of every fiber project. It encompasses all requirements and details of how a fiber design should reflect and be delivered to our clients. Having this established and structured in the early days of a project is key to design success. Transparency during the design phase is crucial, and implementing the CAP during our setup process helps ensure that your project progresses according to your desired timeline.
